Terms of Service

Last updated: 3 June 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the SackCheck website and services ("Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Who we are

SackCheck is a self-help information and document-preparation service operated by NZN Engineering Software and Consultancy Limited (Company No. 13384743), a company registered in England and Wales ("we", "us", "our").

2. What we do — and what we do not do

SackCheck provides information, eligibility assessments, and document templates to help you understand and pursue an employment matter yourself.

We are not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice, do not act as your legal representative, and are not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. Nothing on the Service is a substitute for advice from a qualified solicitor. For complex or high-value matters, you should seek independent legal advice.

Our eligibility results, strength scores and estimated award ranges are illustrative only, generated from the information you provide, and are not a prediction or guarantee of any outcome.

3. Eligibility to use the Service

You must be at least 18 years old and resident in England, Wales or Scotland to use the Service. The Service addresses the law of England and Wales (and, where indicated, Scotland) only.

4. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date. You must not share your account or use it on behalf of another person without our permission.

5. Plans, payments and renewals

Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; we do not store your card details. You can cancel a subscription at any time from your account; cancellation stops future billing and you retain access until the end of the current billing period.

6. Your right to cancel (consumer cancellation rights)

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase of digital services for a refund. However, by asking us to begin generating your documents immediately, you acknowledge that you may lose this right once the digital content has been delivered. Our voluntary 14-day money-back guarantee (see our Refund Policy) may still apply.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by: submitting false information; using the Service for any unlawful purpose; attempting to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to our systems; or reselling or redistributing our documents or content without a licence.

8. Intellectual property

All content, templates, software and branding on the Service are owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the documents we generate for your own claim. You may not reproduce or distribute them commercially.

9. Our liability

We provide the Service with reasonable care and skill. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from: your reliance on illustrative results; missed deadlines; the outcome of any claim; or your failure to obtain independent legal advice where appropriate. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded (including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud). Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Deadlines are your responsibility

Employment tribunal claims are subject to strict time limits — usually three months less one day from the act complained of. While we provide reminders as a convenience, you remain solely responsible for meeting all deadlines. We are not liable for any claim that is time-barred.

11. Changes and termination

We may update the Service or these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified on this page. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
